JANUARY 27 UPDATE:
Due to ongoing icy conditions on secondary roads and rural areas across our district, Anderson School District Four will operate on an eLearning day on Wednesday, January 28. While many main roads have improved, several secondary and rural roads remain patchy, especially in shaded areas where ice persists. These conditions create safety concerns for student transportation and for families and staff traveling from rural areas. All after school activities will be cancelled on Wednesday as well.
District leaders have spoken with Anderson County Emergency Management and are continuing to monitor road conditions across all of Anderson County and our attendance area. District and school staff have also been actively preparing campuses and de-icing areas in anticipation of a safe return to in-person learning. Students should follow their teachers’ guidance for eLearning expectations. Additional updates will be shared as conditions improve.

Due to the anticipated winter weather conditions and continued concerns related to freezing rain, sleet, and extremely cold temperatures, Anderson School District 4 will operate on eLearning Day for Monday Jan 26th and Tuesday Jan 27th
We continue to remain in regular communication with the National Weather Service and Anderson County Emergency Management, and we have worked closely with the other Anderson County school districts in making this decision. In addition to road conditions, forecasted temperatures are expected to be extremely cold, which can impact our ability to safely operate school buses, particularly during the early morning hours.

We also understand that winter weather can result in power outages or connectivity issues that may impact a student’s ability to complete assignments. Join us for a Sensory-Friendly Santa Experience on Sunday, December 14 from 4–6 PM at Town Hall, 310 Greenville St., Pendleton, SC. Families can request a 15-minute time slot, with each family receiving three minutes of individual time with Santa in a wheelchair-accessible, low-stimulation environment. During each time slot, five families will enter the council chambers to take photos with Santa.
Our Santa has experience supporting individuals with special needs and sensory sensitivities, helping make this holiday tradition welcoming for everyone.
This event is proudly presented in partnership with Town of Pendleton and Anderson School District 4.
