The Bosch Community Fund Grants Advance STEM and Environmental Education for over 6,000 students and teachers in the Anderson Area.
The Bosch Community Fund is investing in Anderson's future by supporting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives across the area. These ten grants create pathways for students to explore STEM career opportunities through experiential learning and cutting-edge approaches. By partnering with schools, libraries, colleges, and community organizations, the Fund is equipping the next generation for high-demand STEM careers.
Anderson School District 4 received a grant to enhance STEM education from Pre-K through 8th grade through its STEM Connections: Hands-On Learning, Environmental Awareness, and Real-World Exploration program. This initiative includes interactive science labs led by Clemson University's Science Outreach Center, an outdoor reading lab and school garden, and a STEM-focused summer camp for elementary students.
"Thank you to BOSCH for generously supporting our STEM grant and helping make the purchase of Ozobots possible for our students. Because of this opportunity, students are strengthening problem-solving skills, practicing computational thinking, and collaborating in meaningful, hands-on ways. We are already seeing increased engagement, confidence, and curiosity as students test ideas, debug their thinking, and persist through challenges. Your investment is making a powerful impact on how our students learn, create, and grow as future innovators."
- Stephanie Dixon, Townville Elementary
"We are incredibly grateful for Bosch’s continued support of our lab. The STEM materials you provide have made a meaningful difference in our classrooms—enhancing hands-on learning, deepening student engagement, and sparking curiosity. These resources not only strengthen our instruction but also inspire students to see themselves pursuing future pathways in STEM-related fields. Thank you for investing in our students and their potential."
- Beth Harrison, Mount Lebanon Elementary
"The Bosch Grant allows our Riverside Middle School STEM/Robotics program to engage over 160 students from diverse backgrounds during the school year in classroom computer science, automation, and competition robotics."
- Bill Sheskey, Riverside Middle

Due to ongoing icy road conditions, Anderson School District 4 will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow morning, Feb 3rd.
Please be aware that school buses will not operate on roads that are unsafe for travel. At this time, we have approximately 30 roads that remain impassable.
If a bus did not travel down your road last Thursday, it is unlikely that it will be able to pick up students on that same road tomorrow morning. Safety remains our top priority, and bus routes will be adjusted accordingly. Families who live on affected roads should make alternate transportation plans if possible. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to monitor conditions and work to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Thank you for your patience and partnership.

Anderson School District Four – Operational Update
Due to icy patches on rural roads, Anderson School District Four will operate on a two-hour delay for all schools on Thursday, January 29. Buses will only operate on roads that are safe for travel.
All campuses have been prepared for the safe return of students; however, some patchy ice may remain in shaded areas on school grounds. Staff will continue to monitor conditions and take appropriate precautions throughout the day. School administrators and staff will work with students to ensure that eLearning assignments and coursework are completed and that students are supported as they transition back to campus.
The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. District personnel will continue to monitor conditions, and additional updates will be shared as needed. We appreciate the patience and support of our families as we take these precautions to ensure a safe start to the school day.

JANUARY 27 UPDATE:
Due to ongoing icy conditions on secondary roads and rural areas across our district, Anderson School District Four will operate on an eLearning day on Wednesday, January 28. While many main roads have improved, several secondary and rural roads remain patchy, especially in shaded areas where ice persists. These conditions create safety concerns for student transportation and for families and staff traveling from rural areas. All after school activities will be cancelled on Wednesday as well.
District leaders have spoken with Anderson County Emergency Management and are continuing to monitor road conditions across all of Anderson County and our attendance area. District and school staff have also been actively preparing campuses and de-icing areas in anticipation of a safe return to in-person learning. Students should follow their teachers’ guidance for eLearning expectations. Additional updates will be shared as conditions improve.
Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and partnership as we keep student and staff safety at the forefront of every decision.

⚠️ JANUARY 26 UPDATE:
At this time, main roads are mostly safe for travel; however, many backroads remain treacherous in spots, particularly in shaded and rural areas. District leaders continue to stay in close communication with emergency preparedness officials and weather professionals as we monitor conditions throughout our communities.
As communicated last Friday, tomorrow (Tuesday, January 27) has been designated as an eLearning day. We are pleased to report that power is on at all schools, and our facilities and maintenance teams are actively working to prepare campuses and buildings for the safe return of students and staff when conditions allow.
As we move through Tuesday (Jan 27th), district leaders will continue assessing road conditions and updated forecasts in collaboration with our emergency and weather partners. We will provide updates on Tuesday should any decisions be made regarding plans for Wednesday.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued partnership. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority as we thoughtfully balance safety with continuity of learning.

Dear Anderson 4 Families,
Due to the anticipated winter weather conditions and continued concerns related to freezing rain, sleet, and extremely cold temperatures, Anderson School District 4 will operate on eLearning Day for Monday Jan 26th and Tuesday Jan 27th
We continue to remain in regular communication with the National Weather Service and Anderson County Emergency Management, and we have worked closely with the other Anderson County school districts in making this decision. In addition to road conditions, forecasted temperatures are expected to be extremely cold, which can impact our ability to safely operate school buses, particularly during the early morning hours.
Here are resources and support for families:
https://www.emd.andersonsheriff.org/winterstorm
We also understand that winter weather can result in power outages or connectivity issues that may impact a student’s ability to complete assignments. Families experiencing these challenges should communicate with their school as needed. Flexibility will be provided, and students will not be penalized for circumstances beyond their control.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and continued partnership as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. Updates regarding school operations for the remainder of the week will be communicated as conditions improve and more information becomes available.
