Supporting Student Safety with a New Shuttle Service
To better serve our families and enhance student safety, Anderson School District Four will begin offering an afternoon shuttle bus service from Riverside Middle School to Pendleton High School for Riverside students who have a sibling attending Pendleton High School. This includes middle school students who ride home with an older sibling who drives, as well as middle school students who are picked up by their parents along with their older sibling. This service is designed to help families avoid waiting in two separate afternoon dismissal car lines.
To prioritize student safety, walking between the Riverside Middle School and Pendleton High School campuses is not permitted.
Students who wish to participate must complete a Shuttle Bus Request Form, which will be available in the Riverside Middle School front office. Completed forms must be submitted, and sibling relationships must be verified in PowerSchool, before students may begin using the shuttle service.
Only students with an approved Shuttle Bus Request Form on file and an assigned shuttle tag will be permitted to ride the shuttle. Approved students will be issued a tag indicating one of the following approved purposes for riding the shuttle:
Band and Athletics
Sibling of a PHS Student Driver
Sibling of a PHS Car Rider
We will monitor shuttle numbers in an effort to potentially expand this offering. These tags should remain attached to students' backpacks. Students will not be permitted to board the shuttle without their assigned tag.
We are pleased to provide this additional transportation option as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and supporting the needs of our Anderson Four families. The shuttle service will begin on Monday, August 10, for students who have completed the required form and received their shuttle tag.
Morning Drop-Off
Riverside Middle School: Begins at 7:30 a.m.
Pendleton High School: Begins at 7:45 a.m.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Riverside Middle School: Begins at 3:20 p.m.
Pendleton High School: Begins at 3:30 p.m.
