ANDERSON FOUR’S RATINGS REFLECT EXCELLENCE
Superintendent Lee D’Andrea announced the release of Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) federal accountability (school and district letter grades) and state test results (PASS and HSAP) showing gains and academic excellence across the board. Specifically, with higher targets for performance, District Four schools improved their ratings with five A’s and one B demonstrating significantly improved student performance on most state accountability measures.
“This achievement is evidence of our collective commitment to students’ success,” said Superintendent Dr. Lee D’Andrea. “It is the result of dedicated work and focus on the part of the students, their families, and our teachers. The As and Bs indicate we have an outstanding school system; our community can be very proud of this.” Click here for full press release.

Congratulations to Leah Durham, Choral Director at Riverside Middle, and her honored students in their outstanding performance on Saturday, October 11th at Anderson University. 18 students from ASD4 were selected last spring to be members of the elite 2014 South Carolina Junior High All-State Choir. These 7th-9th graders learned challenging music this fall and rehearsed with distinguished conductors last weekend with fellow singers from around the state. They gave a wonderful concert on Saturday; we are very proud of these talented young musicians!
The materials are in the following subject areas: Social Studies, Secondary - Advanced Placement Human Geography and Elementary - Cursive Writing, Grades 3-5.
This year, the South Carolina Department of Education will conduct a virtual public review of the student materials for each recommended program from October 10 through November 10, 2014. Access to the web links for each proposed program and the Public Review Comment Form is available on the web at www.mysctextbooks.com under “What’s New.” State Board of Education members will review citizens’ comments before a final decision is made on adopting the materials.
